OUR VENUE

The Kirk and Gardens

We are located beside the village green and adjacent to the 13th century Udny Castle  in the picturesque Aberdeenshire countryside.

Conveniently close to Aberdeen and it's International Airport and the country towns of Ellon and Inverurie.

Beside the Kirk is a wonderful manicured walled garden which the present  King Charles III helped to plant in the 1980's. A large granite bench commemorates this event.

The village and it's surroundings

This is a truly beautiful location. The Hamlet of Udny Green boasts one of only a handful of traditional village greens remaining in Scotland.

The historic Udny Castle and grounds complete what must be one of the most beautiful country village locations in the country.

Our region

Aberdeenshire stretches from “one of the last great places on earth” (the Cairngorms) to “one of the world’s top-rated coastlines”. So says National Geographic.

You can roam for miles across great estates, expanses of moorland, ancient Caledonian forests, rolling farmland, vast dunes, wide sandy beaches and expansive coastlines.

Ancient sites and symbols mark this as a heartland of the ancient Picts. In the millennia that followed, no fewer than 263 castles were planted here. And of course this majestic place has long been loved by monarchs … and by the salmon that return each year to power upstream in the fast flowing snow-fed waters of the Dee and the Don. You could call this True Majesty.

Travel Options

The village of Udny Green has very good road links to the city of Aberdeen and it's international airport at Dyce.

The market towns of Ellon and Inverurie are a short drive away as is the remarkable coastline and sandy dunes and beaches of Newburgh and Balmedie.

There are excellent  road and rail links from other parts of the UK. Aberdeen is a little over 2 hours from Edinburgh by rail.
